Musafia North America Inc. --  Musical Instrument Division

We provide services for small to medium-size companies, specializing in producing small-quantity, high-quality products crafted  by traditional means.  Our Musical Instrument Division has been working with European companies since 1996.

For small producers, access to North American markets can be vitally important to preserving traditions created by generations of artisans.

Many buyers have no idea how products arrive from far-away places to the "store shelves" of their favorite retailer.  This site is designed to provide some background on the services we provide to our European clientele.

Musafia Cremona - Italy Cases for violin and viola.  As the trusted North American agent for Musafia Italia S.r.l., we provide complete market assistance.  In addition to a North American base for logistics, we take responsibility for ordering and order processing, inventory storage and deliveries, customer service and customer feedback, market data and marketing assistance, banking and other financial services, as well as legal consultation.  The result?  These fine violin and viola cases are sold in nearly every significant violin shop in the United States and Canada.

Contemporary instruments from Cremona We work with dozens of violin makers based in the city of Cremona, Italy and have assisted many of them them since our founding in 1996.  Violinmaking has taken place in Northern Italy since violinmaking began.  Cremona, the home of Stradivari, Guarneri, and many other "old" violin makers, has a tradition which has remained unbroken to the present day.  In fact there may be more makers in Cremona today than ever before.  Cremonese makers know that  while the label "made in Cremona" may get their foot in the door, the over all quality of their instruments must still be better than the competition (from both new and older instruments) in order to have success on the North American market.  We provide violin makers differing levels of service depending on their needs.

Cremona Exhibition   This event has taken place nine times since 1997 and has brought more than 1000 violins, violas, and cellos to the United States.  Spawned by the inquiry of one American violin dealer, we have brought the interests of more than sixty Italian violin makers together with the marketing efforts of violin dealers in up to nine U.S. locations to produce an event that has resulted in hundreds of sales to discerning musicians.  Arguably the most visible and substantial exhibition ever undertaken, this International event is beyond compare in the industry.

Collection of Rare Prints & Maps If you have any interest in the City of Cremona, you'll have to peruse this collection.  Prints and maps that date back more than 300 years show you how the Cremona looked at the time of Stradivarius, and how Cremona looked during the time of many of his successors.  As our collection changes we sell some of these prints to the public; contact us if you'd like a rare print for your studio or living room!

About Us.  Some view the violin industry as an obscure sector of the world market; perhaps it is.  But for any parent that buys an instrument for their child, for any amateur that buys a new string for their instrument, for any professional that prepares for a concert, the musical instrument industry becomes important to them.  The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has their annual convention at the Anaheim Convention Center (across from Disneyland); the NAMM is the largest convention that Anaheim hosts each year, with members booking nearly 50,000 hotel rooms during the event.  Yes we have a small market niche, but it is something we take pride in.
