Mr. Musafia's note: I have worked with Stefano for many years and have a great respect for his making.  He produces very high quality instruments that represent a very good value.  Having sold both his violins and violas, I recommend both.  Stefano's work is a combination of precise workmanship and pleasing varnishes -- he makes both "new" and antiqued finishes.

Curriculum Vitae: Stefano Trabucchi was born in Sondrio on the 5th February 1970 into a family of musicians. He began studying violin when he was eight years old. Being attracted to violinmaking, he enrolled in the International School of Violinmaking in Cremona as soon as he had completed his education in intermediate school. He attended the four year course under the guidance of the masters Negrotli and Amighetti completing his diploma in 1988 with highest possible results. In the same year he began working in M" Nolli's workshop in Cremona furthering his knowledge and perfecting his own working capabilities. In 1989 at the 2nd Baveno violinmaking competition, he won the Berta Prize for the youngest violinmaker amongst the finalists. At the beginning of 1992 he opened his own workshop in Cremona. In October 1992 he won second prize at the Bagnacuvallo "Young Violinmaker's" competition where he presented a viola d' amore. In the Triennale A.Stradivari of Cremona of 1994 is first classified in the viola's graduatory. (C.V. provided by the maker).
